Tanya Shively, an award-winning interior designer who works with prominent clients in the Scottsdale area and around the country, is Arizona’s foremost authority on green design.

Tanya, who has 21 years of design experience. is an “Accredited Professional” certified in the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) program. Her upcoming book on green design is the latest in her series of publications. She is the author of the book “How to Avoid Interior Design Nightmares,” and the guide entitled: “The Do’s and Don’t’s of Designing Your Dream Home.”

Tanya is known for her extraordinary customer service and for creating unique, one-of-a-kind interiors that are both luxurious and eco-friendly.

“A gorgeous home can also be a healthy home,” says Tanya, who designs new and remodels existing residences for CEO’s, top level managers, business owners, entrepreneurs and other accomplished professionals. She is one of the region’s few designers who specifies furniture, carpeting and paint that are free of the toxins that can cause respiratory problems, allergic reactions, headaches, and other health issues.

Tanya provides services ranging from project management and space planning to kitchen and bath design and furniture selection in such communities as Paradise Valley, Desert Mountain, Silverleaf, North Scottsdale and The Biltmore. She also works with clients in such states as California, Colorado, New Mexico and Wyoming.

Tanya, whose work has appeared in several industry publications, is the winner of a variety of design and service awards. Clients and industry colleagues rave about her “exquisite talent” and “design intuition,” and about her “stylish” and “creative” designs.

Her company, Sesshu Design, is backed by a team of skilled professionals knowledgeable in green design. They include custom furniture makers, painters, tile experts, faux finishers, lighting specialists, plasterers, landscape designers and other craftsmen.

Tanya, who holds an interior design degree, constantly expands her industry knowledge by taking continuing education courses and attending professional conferences. She is a longtime member of the American Society of Interior Designers, the nation’s oldest and longest-established organization of design professionals.

A transitional style family room in a second home for a busy couple with a large family - comfortable, livable, and stylish with cozy colors and inviting fabrics.

The formal dining room of this second home is primarily used for large family gatherings as well as business entertaining.  It needed to be elegant and sophisticated while also livable for a large extended family with small grandchildren.
This living room creates a formal space for entertaining business associates as well as family for holidays.  The feeling the homeowners wanted was stylish and elegant look with a comfortable and inviting presence that would welcome visitors to their home.
 A soothing space for getting away from house guests and relaxing in a private space was the driving factor behind the design of this master bedroom.  The room is fitted with comfortable seating for reading or watching television as well as a writing desk for personal correspondence.  The color palette is warm and cozy, with a sense of restfulness.
