Why use an ASID Interior Designer?
Your home. Your ideas.
Your lifestyle. Our job is
to understand.
Interior spaces can look many different ways, but how they work is more important. For example, your home’s interior must not only look great, but its design must support the way you want to live. Designing spaces that meet and satisfy your needs requires understanding both current and future uses.
ASID interior design consultants are trained to deal with more than the furnishings and finishes that go into a space and make it look wonderful. They use an analytical problem-solving approach that focuses on your needs and aspirations. This approach is based on listening, understanding and ultimately creating a space that exceeds your expectations.
Designing your home is a process – to some it’s exciting, to others it’s intimidating. An ASID interior design consultant can help you manage that process – taking on as much or as little responsibility as you like.
The first step. Decide how the space you want to create will be used – form follows function. Make an inventory of all the things – such as furniture, artwork or special heirlooms – you want to retain. Then look through magazines, such as TRENDS, or books for ideas. Clip the pictures that appeal to you. This process will help you to more quickly communicate your preferences and needs.
The choice is yours. We act as a consultant to ensure you get what you want and need. We’ll help you examine your options, create a roadmap, manage the process or anything in between – purchasing, ordering, managing contractors and overseeing budgets. Interior design consultants are trained to see the big picture and to help you balance your aspirations, functional needs and budget.
Why ASID?
ASID provides education for design practitioners that helps their businesses conform to environmental and safety standards. ASID design consultants receive the most current information on appropriate materials, technology, building codes, government regulations, flammability standards, design psychology, product performance and more. Armed with this knowledge, ASID designers protect the health, safety and welfare of people in interior environments. Currently, there are 48 ASID chapters spanning North America. These chapters are the focal point for the designer’s involvement in ASID and its programs. Chapter activities provide support for a designer’s individual practice, education, community service projects, marketing and industry relations.
ASID interior design consultants specialize in a wide range of areas. In the commercial sector, our members provide design and consulting services to the office, health care, institutional, hospitality and retail environments.
